I found this chunk balancing precariously at the end of a tiny twig. I know it, for sure. This image struck me with the amount of leaves which have fallen from the aspens into the waiting arms of the pines... Plus the banks of aspens turning in the background... I was struck by the mixture of created lines and organic, flowing shapes. It was an overcast day and I wanted to get the details exact, so I went with an HDR to get as much light and texture as possible. I love the clouds, the wood texture, and the tree in the midground... fun! Black and white because it just looked better.</p>]]></description>

This was a 7:30 am. By noon, it all had melted. So I was glad to have caught this image! HDR, with some textures added in the sky and lots of photoshop tweaking.</p>]]></description>

The wet snow managed to cover everything with this delightful coating of white. My neighbors trees, seen here, got the best look in the neighborhood. I'm glad my kid dragged me out early to show me the snow or I would have missed this! Finished with PhotoTools help, and a partial layer conversion to infrared really helped to show the otherworldly glow I saw. I softened this one and sharpened the next... let me know which you think is better!</p>]]></description>

I also did a version using the onone software that I am trying out, and I'll show that when it is time. I like this image but need to work on the dark center of the flower more... at the moment this is what I have, though.</p>]]></description>

The background and blur was caused by several things- a very short depth of field (shot at f2) and the HDR process when 3 exposures of the same scene were combined together.</p>]]></description>
